Sports Minister Richard Caborn has requested a report on the problems that British tennis is facing. Chief executive of the Lawn Tennis Association, John Crowther, has been asked to prepare a brief summary for Caborn, who is keen to redress falling participation rates, which are down to approximately four million regular players. The news follows Caborn's announcement earlier this week of additional funding to projects aimed to bring about greater tennis partnerships between public and private schools. The report comes on the heels of Caborn's trip to Wimbledon earlier this when he admitted he was not keen on tennis.
