Lemi unveils hot and cold spa cabin concept
25 Jul 2014 . BY Jason Holland
 /
Thermal contrast therapy, in which contrasting hot and cold stimuli are used to activate the immune and circulatory systems, was originally conceived by Dr Sebastian Kneipp during the 19th century and is based on the alternation of hot and cold temperatures. In addition to revitalising the circulatory system, Kneipp therapy oxygenates the lower limbs, combats cellulite and water retention, and helps to reduce sensations of heaviness and swelling.

Lemi’s new spa cabin concept is based around this principle, and features the T°-Massage, a technique which is performed on the specially created Spa Dream Q spa table, designed to recreate the feeling of warmth of sand upon the skin. The customer lies down upon a surface of spherical yellow quartz, and is enveloped in light and warmth.

After a number of hot and cold towels soaked with essences are applied to certain parts of the body, the T°-Massage itself is carried out, which promotes a micro-massage effect upon the tissues in contact with the spherical yellow quartz.

The massage reduces muscle tension and decreases the lactic acid contained in the blood. As well as stimulating the cardiovascular system, the spherical yellow quartz gives the customer an overall sensation of lightness and well-being that lasts for several days, even reducing stress levels and increasing the sense of self-esteem.

The T°-Massage is best combined with Lemi’s T°-Vale multi-function mobile trolley, which completes the cabin concept and allows the practitioner to effectively apply alternating hot and cold temperatures to the customer with maximum ease.

In addition to 20 towels, the unit comes equipped with a heating plate with temperature adjustments designed specifically for essential oils, massage oils, body wraps and cosmetic products, and a Cold Cabi and Hot Cabi designed to keep hot and cold towels soaked with aromatic water, both of which feature airtight closure mechanisms.

Together, the Spa Dream Q and T°-Vale allow spas to create a comprehensive menu of both sensory and therapeutic services, thus ensuring increased profitability, as well as the complete satisfaction of even the most demanding customers.
